If you don’t wish to install them yourself and don’t want to pay the dealers somewhat exorbitant price consider having a body shop do the deed. As some places may be reluctant to work on Land Rovers find out who the dealer uses and contact them directly. I’m positive that the labor rate will be significantly less that the dealers. Even if it’s their first time installing the steps they should not charge more than two hours per side.

Good luck 🍀

I was thinking of that also. Thanks.

I was quoted around $4500 for a set from LR here in Sweden. Bought a genuine set from Hunters Prestige in the UK instead for around $1500 and dropped them off at my dealer for installation. Have previously installed myself but lack of time at the moment.

I was looking at Hunter also, I'm going to talk to the shop that installed the Quicksilver exhaust on my RRS AB a while back, see if they can order it for me and install.
I would love to get a few things from Hunter also.

Milltek sells the Urban side steps on their site for $1200 shipped. I was going to go this route but took a gamble on the cheaper Snailfly ones off Amazon for $305. General consenses is many of these budget aftermarket ones are factory rejects. That is, if the side step isn't perfect to LR's specification, they end up on sites like Amazon or eBay at a deep discount because of dents, dings, scratches, or paint chips. The ones I received weren't too bad - a small ding in between the side steps on the driver's side and some paint chipping near the very end of both peices, similar to ThunderBob's #4 reply. I just hit the paint chips with some black spray paint and it did the job. Seems these aftermarket ones are hit or miss though depending on the level of damage.

As for install, I had my LR dealer install them. I think the original quote to install them was around $1100. I have a good rapport with the service manager so let's just say I paid less than that .
Install went fine. They did use the OEM LR clips instead of the junky aftermarket ones. The OEM clips only added around $20 to the total install cost.

Ugh, sorry to hear it but totally get it. I wasn't trying to be a jerk there, it was less "you overpaid" and more "I can't believe how much the dealer overcharged for these".

I swear the service dept at JLR makes their own prices up on the spot for some things. I called the two near me to price out having them install the wheel arch kit during my first service. It's also a super simple install that takes a couple of hours at most, but one that I just don't have time for. It was $1800 from one dealer and $1650 from another. The kit is $950:

The install is just pulling the old ones off, tapping the new ones on, and applying some double sided tape. I was fine getting gouged for the $900 plastic fender flares, but paying $300-400 an hour for the service time was just too much for me.

As a data point, Rovers North installed mine for me, for free, in about 2 hours. And that was including them taking their time so that they could update their website/documentation and me interrupting them to shoot the **** with the techs. It's literally just trimming some underside protection and bolting the things in.

I bought the OEM steps via a body shop so they were cheaper (1100 their price) and then paid them to paint them black and install them. All for much less than what the dealership wanted.
