high / low range button
I haven't found this searching the forum, but apologies if it's been answered before:
The instruction manual says you can cause transmission damage if you hit the low range button while in motion (and the dealer also mentioned this), yet in the same section it also says if you're going too fast or not in neutral, it won't change.
I am slightly concerned if there is a button sitting there that can destroy your transmission if you hit it accidentally, and would find this poor design. If it IS protected (good design), why the warning? Just to protect from liability if someone manages it? The only case I could see for damage if it's really protected is if you're in neutral but still rolling slightly, perhaps?

Ever throw an auto trans into reverse at 50mph? Nothing happens. Would have to be the same right?
You could always try it on a test drive. My dealer lets you just take it w/o the sales guy (until they see this post that is).

Nothing bad happens if you "accidentally" hit the low range button while the car is in gear and rolling. The button just blinks off and on, and a message pops up in the instrument cluster prompting you to stop and select Neutral before you can engage Low. You can switch from Low to High while rolling however, as long as you do so at very low speeds, by temporarily selecting Neutral and pushing the Low Range button.
