Ok, for the life of me I can't figure how to get to the fuse box behind the glovebox. It's called the Passenger Compartment Fuse Box. When I look on TOPiX I find how to totally remove it, but that's a LOT of effort. The Owner's Manual and everything I can find (see Fuse doc attached) says to just squeeze some plastic that's not well identified. Since I have a long history of over pushing/pinching/pressuring or pulling plastic only to be followed by extreme profanity when something breaks - I figured I should ask this time. After almost six decades I think I'm slowly starting to realize my flaws...
It's on the left side of the glovebox. Push down on the plastic part shown in the photo below, allowing it to clear the plastic stop just above it. It is fairly stiff. Note that the damping system just left of that will come out of its housing when you fully open the glovebox and you just have to feed it back in when you close it again.
Thanks, @Muppetry ! I was tired of waiting (ALWAYS dangerous) and pushed it to the right on the photo, not down. It was hard as crap! but I was tired of waiting for a response and went for it. What was really "disappointing" was when I forgot to put damping system rod back in the first time. As my dad used to say: "a good education costs".
Here’s PowerfulUK on how to access all the fuse boxes. Includes the spare fuse locations, the fuse removal tool, and the fuse-map cards:
