so I added my new 24 defender in August to my policy..yea its not cheap but that is what it is..however after looking at the policy in detail I found they added an "extended warranty" at 400/6 mos. I did not elect that...why would I its coverd by the mfg warranty. this is with Geico....anyone else have this just added to your policy???

 

Never seen that before. Get on the phone with them and have them walk you through line by line now that they've added something like this without your knowledge.

 

I would call Geico and ask them what it is. If you do not need it, have them take it out.

I would definitely ask the insurance company. I've never heard of extended warranty coverage added to an auto insurance policy. @graym, what state are you in?

 

I have never heard of a car insurance company adding warranty coverage. But not surprised it is Geico. My wife had Geico when we were dating and they put her in the assigned risk pool after 2 windshield claims in 1 year, basically doubling her car insurance cost. Also read an article in Car and Driver about Geico donating radar and laser equipment to the NYS Troopers. You know, "in the interest of safety" in a state where Geico insures many motorists. I'd like to see one of the red tailed hawks that hang around my backyard swoop down and grab that annoying Geico gecko.
