Ford invented the formula with the 2002 Ford Thunderbird and then did it again with the 2005 Mustang.

Pining for the good old days and an obsession over nostalgia is a decisively American thing.

Point of order. Harley and VW arguably invented the modern genre of nostalgic motors. Harley with nearly everything they've produced in our lifetimes and VW with the New Beetle in 1998. Everyone else chased their successes.

True with the VW. Harley on the other hand recognizes they have a winning formula and a dominant brand. Their bikes haven’t been redesigned as much as slowly evolved. They don’t have to fight for attention in the same way that car companies do.

My Range Rover Sport has a Jaguar engine and I had to replace the plastic crossover pipe too. It was a slow leak though and not catastrophic.
