Default Kayak on Factory Crossbars

Has anyone put a fishing kayak on the factory crossbars? I have a 13ft boat that I want to put on the factory crossbars, but they are only 27in apart. I feel like I need an additional crossbar further back to evenly support the length.

Are you not able to move the crossbars forward or backward to increase the distance between them?

Because of the taper of the roof rails (front it wider than back), the crossbar position is not adjustable.

The third crossbar works great, and actually makes loading the boat a little easier as it give you a pivot point to lift the boat onto the roof protecting the antenna/camera and the body of the vehicle.
