Default Key Fob re-pair

Has anyone lost their fob pairing? I searched here and couldn't find anything. None of the buttons do anything on either fob.
  • I can lock/unlock with in control,
  • if I place the fob under the steering column it will start
  • Fresh batteries both fobs
  • Left a fob in the Defender overnight (read that somewhere)
  • Tried the "turn key clockwise while pressing lock button"

As long as your another key works, you can pair it with GAP tool.
Simon@PowerfulUK has a video in YouTube how to pair extra key using smart watch style active key but I believe it's same with a key.
(I successfully paired smart watch style key following the video)

Both keys/FOBs won't work. I have an appointment already next week (new windshield gasket is misplaced), so they are adding this with no explanation how it might have happened.

This is crazy but thank you for sharing this incident. We all learn the lesson not to replace both keys at the same time. I'll make sure to test out first before replacing the second key.

What does “new windshield gasket is misplaced” mean by the way?

So, is water leaking in or something? If so, that would be the likely cause of your issue - water ingress, corrosion on a component or harness / connector.

No, it is just kinda wavy at the inside - the black foam looking gasket between the windshield and the dash, is not consistently smooth from left to right.

My foam gasket at the base of the windshield is a little wavy as well. In the few months I've had my rig I don't notice it any longer and no one has ever said anything, if they even noticed. I figure the time to deal with it will be whenever the windshield needs to be replaced, no point risking damage to something else for something like that. If it jumped out at you and everyone in the vehicle then I'd be a little more interested in getting it addressed.

Normally yes, but I did replace it, cost a crime, and now the gasket looks a bit deformed - new ones on the lot look like mine used to.
