Land Rover Defender vs INEOS Grenadier
Chinese vehicles not available in the US and unlikely to be until there's a substantial change in Government.
I saw lots of Tank 300s and 500s in Patagonia last year. I liked the Tank 300 a lot and it actually shares the same 8HP transmission that is used in the Defender. I also have no idea about longevity, but vehicles live hard lives in the Magellanes and the Great Wall trucks and Tank SUVs seemed to hold their own on the endless rough dirt roads in the very southern areas of Chile.
I love my Defender, but if the Tank 300 were available here and I needed to replace the Defender it would be hard to justify paying twice the price for a Land Rover, Land Cruiser or 4Runner. And the interior of the new Chinese vehicles puts all US produced, and most European produced vehicles to shame.

Sure they aren't built well

I crack myself up!
You are dead right. It's a long way off until you trade your Toyota for a Great Wall to do outback work. But no doubt, back the 1960's the aussie Land rover ownere would be making the same jokes about Toyota's and their lack of dealers.......... how the tides have changed lol
That Tank 300 works out to $33500 US, about what I paid for my very basic 6G Bronco. That price will get the US publics attention, prpbably good for Detroit tha they are blocked from the US. They won't be blocked forever.
Edit-when the Tank starts showing up in Canada and Mexico the US public will notice them as they cross the borders. Chinese hybrids don't really stand out, but the Tank will.
