Which one of you got the big steak?
That's a great looking setup, Huc. If I were a tow-behind-camper sort of guy I'd be looking into that. My wife would probably agree to go camping with me if I had something like that. Which is why I don't have something like that.
Sadly steaks were same; by weight not by volume I guess But having the two kitchen option was pretty darn sweet! Indoor prep - outdoor cook - indoor dine outta the wind/weather - Yah I've gotten soft.
Having spent my outdoor time in conditions ranging from bivouac - snow caves - tarps - tents - flea and rat invested "sherpa lodges" - this seemed like a nice way to enjoy outdoor life going forward We still have the motorcycle tent and the Oztent expedition ground setup so we're covered - although I confess I really liked having a hot/warm indoor shower every-other-day and a diesel heater for the 25F degree nights on the drive home
Yah - I've gotten soft - but I'm okay without that
Photo was off US-50 in Nevada, aka The Loneliest Road in America. There are some nice hot springs near the town of Austin, NV on public land where we stopped overnight on our way back from Utah.

LOL, I finished a backpacking trip in south-central Utah in 2016 and we decided to go see Great Basin NP just because. A large part of the allure was getting to drive the length of US-50, since it has that nickname. One of the things my buddy and I like to do out west is “collect sightlines”, by which we mean when you crest a rise and see a long stretch of unbroken road sightline ahead you reset the odometer and see how far it is to the horizon when you get there. Before this trip the longest we had collected was in Utah, 5.3 miles. On US50 we got two over 11 miles! (Let it be noted that in the Atlanta/NoGa area anytime you can see a half-mile on land it’s something to celebrate.)
On one of those 11+ mile straights I had pinned the rental Malibu’s loud-pedal to the floormats and we were showing 130mph on the slight downhill. After a few minutes I saw a car crest the far horizon headed toward us, probably six miles away. I of course wasn’t going to approach another car on a 2-lane road at 130mph, so when we were maybe 1-1.5 miles apart I let off and started slowing. When we were half-a-mile apart the Expedition lit up his roof. I pulled over. He said he’d clocked us at 125 but was only going to write it as 85 so we didn’t have to come back to NV for a court date.

The Boxster was shortly after I got the defender. I didn’t need to the towed to the shop but….. I used a Bluetooth brake controller. It worked fine but I didn’t like it so fitted a proper one.
I took the dump trailer home from work for yard work a bunch of times and rented the lift for a few projects. Since that I haven’t had much need to pull anything but we’ll see what happens over the winter
