Default Lock the car with engine running

Does anybody know how to lock the car with the engine running?
Tried with keyfob, but it won't let me.. the hornet of the car is making a noise to know that I cannot lock
Tried with Land Rover mobile application, but under remote submeniu is telling me that remote functions(like remote lock the doors) are not available when the engine is running.
I want to make a maps update from the USB stick and I must have the engine on and it takes more than 1 hour to finish.. Cannot let the car unlocked on the street for 1 hour where I live

You'll probably need the remote app on your phone.
But l assume you want to start the engine after you get out without turning off the ignition

You could start the engine with the doors locked then climb out of the window! But then the vehicle could get stolen.
You'd have to put in your hand and close the window with the door switch after you got out.

Make sure the remote or key will allow you to open the door before closing the window, otherwise you'll never get back in.

I am trying to find out maybe there is a setting to change in GAP Tool that I have bought (that will allow me to lock even if engine is ON)

to update maps it takes 30-40 mins with USB 3.0 stick (blue connector), no need to run engine but I had to press start button few times to prevent it going to sleep. Did it while doing other thing inside vehicle.

GAP tool for an hour of waiting ?
Man, where do you live ? I will sit in the car, do the updates, and pay me 1/2 of the GAP tool.

Then again, going out of the window, it would be fun, then post it on YouTube and get lots of followers

Kidding. There is no way you can do that (yet). You may have to sit there for an hour ...

Time to get a book or bring your laptop and get it done. You won't find a solution that leaves PIVI on and the car running while locked. Too many sensors are looking for that situation and blocking it.
I'd love an hour of peace with no distraction. If I lived closer I'd use it as an excuse to just get away from the chaos.

Once in 3 months I sat 1 hour inside the vehicle doing the update, but time is an expensive comodity for me so this is why I;m trying to find another solution

l concede that climbing out of the window isn't really a sensible solution
