Default Loose rear strut tower bolts

After chasing a rattle in the rear of our 2020 110 HSE for sometime now, It has been eliminated. Over the course of my rather hard driving habits the rear strut tower bolts had loosened causing a regular metal on metal clunking rattle. I'm now very happy to be back in a rattle free car. I love this vehicle, but the old adage holds true, Land Rover continues to make mechanics out of their customers.

Where do you access the bolts? I too have a rear rattle. As luck would have it, I couldn’t get the rattle to happen when the LR Shop Foreman was riding in the car with me. Would love to check the bolts on mine to see if that’s the cause.

If you have the 3rd row, good luck getting to them. It’s damn near impossible. I had the same problem and they just tightened them. Hasn’t come back thus far.

It requires removing the side trim from the cargo area. You might want to view Topix for directions as with many things Rover, it seems to be more complicated than is should be.

@DonMitsu how was it eliminated? Please share some details.

I have the same rattle on my 2022 p40 110. Comes from the rear driver side shock. No third row seat. I removed the cargo lid and styrofoam holding the jack and can see/feel the rattling nut.

(by the way, theres another thread on this same topic)

The strut tower nuts at the top of the strut tower were loose enough I could tighten them by hand. By putting a wrench on all strut tower nuts on both sides I was able to tighten them down and eliminate the annoying rattle. The process for removing the side trim panels was the most time consuming part. I did add quite a bit of dynamat in an effort to make the car even more quiet while I had everything from the back aside from headliner removed. I'm not sure the dynamat made any difference, but I do plan to add it to all 4 doors to see if that helps. I absolutely love this vehicle, but I hate rattles.
