Map Updates
check your USB drive format - it seems to require FAT32. My USB drive was initially Mac formatted and it didn't like it
Did you just keep trying until it worked? I am still getting a 404
My car is a USA version of a 2023.5 110X.
I cannot find the map update app. I've looked on the HERE site but no joy. Can someone on this thread please put a link to the app and/or state the actual title of the app so that I can properly search for it?
Thanks !

Every time I think of updating the oem nav, I quickly remember it’s 2023 and see no reason to bother.
CarPlay with Waze and/or Google Maps just works better for me. It gives me real-time traffic and police info, doesn’t require silly and dated USB stick updates, has better UI and UX, and my history and favorites come with me from car to car.
Sure, onboard nav can be a helpful backup in those rare times I’m in a cell dead zone, so maybe I’ll run an update someday. But pretty low priority in this day and age.

Ok - found the Map Downloader app. Go to https://here.navigation.com/ and choose Land Rover then the Defender then any year (I just 2022 even though I have a 23.5). It'll take you to the Land Rover Route Planner site (which I don't know if that actually works w/ Defenders, but whatever). Log in or create an account (you do not have to associate a vehicle with it). Click on My Account in the upper right. Click on Downloads in the tree on the left. It'll probably say "There are no downloads associated with your account" but at the bottom in yellow, it'll have a prompt / link to download and install the HERE Map Downloader application. It auto-detected my OS (Mac in my case) and downloaded version 1.4.2.1 which I presume is the latest. Then you can go back to the site mentioned earlier in this thread to download the map updates. The latest map update said it needed a USB w/ at least 16.32 GB (16 and something) free.
This direct link MIGHT work to the HERE Map Downloader - not sure - feel free to try of course.

You don’t need a VIN attached to the account to download the MapDownloader app, and then go to the Pivi site to download the latest map.
