I'm not sure what to do now since I had already cancelled my previous Rivian order expecting to get the Defender in June. Remaining build slots for 23.5 cars don't have too many cars spec'd with 3rd row seating. Placing a new order for a MY 24 vehicle would likely push delivery into October 2023.
wow that sucks, so sorry to hear. Pretty poor behavior from the dealer, did you have a deposit placed on the vehicle when you ordered it ?

I think we ordered at the same time, and you even made the comment here in the forum about the build dates and delivery dates back late Feb or early March, and that they'd probably be on the same boat. Mine is a 110 -X. Last amend date was 2/27/23. April 16-18 on the build date w/ the original delivery date 6/23 or so (which I'm not sure if that's port or dealership). They gave me hand-over 6/24.

Anyway, to the point; I got a message update on Saturday that the ship was going through the canal, with a screen shot included. A new delivery date of 6/16. I have a hard time believing yours was built much earlier as to warrant leaving on an earlier ship. There's only so many going to the west coast. From my screen shot of the ship location on 6/3 (in the canal), it's a 5-6 day ride up the coast with good weather (Which we have, and I follow weather religiously because I surf). That would put the the ship in port near the 10th, and consistent with what they're telling me. I think your dealer might be mistaken unless they are scamming you out of your order to direct it to someone else. I got the order detail sheet on mine a while back with the VIN #. You could press 'em on it and get yours.... possibly track it, but if they're already dealin' from the bottom of the deck, it's hard to say.

I'm just saying.... I don't think yours is in yet. Doesn't mean I'm right, but mine is going to Anaheim Hills, and I'm 100% on the timeline. Let me know how it goes. If you have to do the re-order thing, the guys I've been dealing with have been straight up the whole way. I almost went to Newport, and I'm glad I didn't. If I'm not mistaken, Newport & Pasadena are associated but I'm not sure of the nature of the association.

My build date was slated to be 4/14/23 and delivery date 6/23/23. I only called my dealer early because I had seen others from the forums getting delivery several weeks ahead of schedule. I've purchased several cars from LR Pasadena in the past and have had decent experience with them, but they definitely screwed up with this order.

Hi All,
Ordered a V8 110 in Lantau Bronze 3/27, with a 7/14 delivery date.
Have not seen any 525's in here. Hopefully color and engine make it a little rare.
Seems to be moving quickly.
Built 5/11, Build Market Distibution on 5/12
Put on a ship on the 4th of this month. Currently in port in Germany. Heading for a dock in California.
Can't wait.

Can't wait.
We ordered a Lantau Bronze 90 V8 (Vintage Tan interior), with an estimated delivery of early July. It does seem that V8 builds and Lantau Bronze seem to be fairly rare.
Our deposit was submitted last September.
The allocation came up and we signed off on the build in January.
The system shows a build date of March 28.
It froze at that status, not progressing to market distribution, until the salesperson notified me that it was at the distribution center on May 19. (I was told, by LR North America customer service, and subsequently the dealer, that it was pulled off the line awaiting parts.)
On June 2, I was notified that it was on the ship "Brooklands", estimated for delivery to TX on July 7th.
It has been a long wait, but will be a relief when it is finally here. Can't wait for the first road trip.

Wow, we got super lucky on the timing, everything moved quickly. Have a business partner that is friends with the owner of the dealership. They put out the red carpet for me, not sure if that helped, or just coincidence. Itching to drive it, not driven a V8 yet. I was checking out some of the URBAN mods. I like the wide body look they do.
The V8 in a 90 would be a kick. Hope you see it soon.
