Default MY20 vs MY21 - help me decide.

I'm looking at the used market (specifically CPO) and wondering if I'm missing something material between the 2020 model year and the 2021 model year. The two vehicles I have in mind are almost identically speced 110 HSE models and have similar mileage. Apart from being 12 months or less apart in build date, am I missing anything between these two years that would be worth the nearly 7% price difference? I realize there may be a bit less additional wear on the 2021 and some people do care about having the newer model year but I'm not sure that's worth the added price for me. Any insights would be helpful.

I have a late 2020 110 X with no problems.

It may have more to do with when the 2021 was built and if that impacted availability of any features (mirror camera, etc). In general I think they should be pretty much the same. I bought an early 2021 and it wasn’t “missing” any features, but later in the year as the chip shortage took off, some models started missing features.

But if you confirm the features are what you want, I don’t think there is anything that would justify 7%.

I believe 2021s had standard XM and HD Radio and some option availability change among models from 2020 to 2021, but probably nothing major that would have affected the HSE. I've had both model years and would not say one year was better than the other. If it is an early 2020 VIN though that might push me towards the 2021.

Price may have more to do with the CPO warranty. I bought a 2020 CPO and it provided 5 years ( from original delivery) and 100k miles. Difference in years and miles may account for the 7%
