New Defender X order due in 4Q 2024
I ordered a new 2025 model Defender X ~2 months ago. When accepted, I received a build sheet with a build date of next Friday, 10/25/2024. Car is supposed to be delivered 12/20/24.
Can anyone tell me:
- is the build date pretty “locked in”?
- approximately how long to build?
- will I be updated with progress?
- is the car more likely to be late rather than early?
The dealer rep says I’ll be told what ship it will be transported on and given a link to track progress. Can any one here give more details?
Thank you!

I’m not sure where to post this addendum to my original message, but here goes…
My 2025 Defender X is on the Polaris Highway, currently in Baltimore Harbor. Tracking it online, I saw when it docked in Baltimore first at Sparrows Point, then Fairfield, and now at Dundalk. It has been at Dundalk since last evening (Nov 13, 2024). I was curious if anyone knows why the ship has changed mooring between 3 different docks since last tuesday, and is there any way to know whether “my car” is unloaded, still onboard, or loaded on a transport.
as an FYI, when I was given the vessel name by my dealer rep, I went to VesselFinder.com and signed up for the $10 charge to track “one vessel” by satellite. GREAT idea and about the best $10 I’ve spent lately! I loved tracking the ship across the Atlantic.
Thanks for any replies and expertise!
