@NoGaBiker - Our Defenders likely came in on the same boat our timing was so close. Mine is a 22 X-Dyn HSE, but I don't think that H does anything diff w/ wireless CarPlay. I have it. I had to go into the settings to enable it. It came with the 3.0 PiviPro update.

@castle - The Dealer I went to had a dedicated "Technology Specialist". That nerdy young man (is that redundant these days??) knew every feature and his job was to convey it. I am bi-polar on the "Salesman should have known". 1/2 of me thinks it's crazy that the Salesperson doesn't know all the features of one of the few vehicles JLR is selling. Then the other 1/2 recognizes that there is a LOT of turnover of Sales folks at Dealerships. Can you imagine trying to work on car commissions these days in a dealership? I think I'd be in a different career if I had to rely on sales commissions when the manufacturer isn't delivering product.

LOL, just went and checked and sure enough, it now has it. I just had to link. Guess I should read those "what the latest update includes" messages!

Thanks guys! Now I can give my wife my dongle for her 2019 MB.

I got delivery on my dealership's "nerdy young man's" day off. They told me he'd come down and help install the remote app etc. but he never did. He did call and leave me a voice mail asking if I needed anything though. I live about an hour from the dealership so guessing he didn't want to drive down here!
I figured everything out though!

Quick update,

Our WiFi let’s us monitor each device and data usage, and noticed the defender connects but exchanges very little data

and….

I was also researching where to mount a battery tender since the vehicle may go months between use. As I was learning about that I came across a lot of posts with users saying their batteries weren’t fully charged.

so I am exploring the idea that a less than full battery might delay downloads and updates. I plugged in the noco charger on my defender and it showed less then 25% full, even though I just drove it home from a dealer 250 miles away.

so the charger is on, let’s see if that opens up downloads and updates

Solved

took a call with LR support to “activate” the vehicle and register it with the app/Online. Minutes later I had a screen notification of an available update.

@teej - There's definitely a checklist for the Dealer to perform when delivering the Defender with a large section relating to checking the battery and either charging/replacing if necessary. I'm thinking a lot of Dealers just kick them out the door as fast as possible.
