Default New Windshield

well 4 weeks into ownership and I need a new windshield....stone chip repair is not acceptable so now I wait for a new one...probably 4 weeks. Cheap thin glass

has everyone used the LR dealer to replace the windshield? any third party like Safelite?

as of yesterday there are no replacements in the US.

thoughts??

I got a 12" crack in my windshield about 2 weeks ago. Called State Farm and asked for OEM glass. Two days later a glass company was at my house to replace ...and he did have an OEM glass. I find it hard to believe there are no replacements in the entire US.

He couldn't replace the glass because I have the Raised Air Intake. In order to remove the A pillar trim, you have to remove the RAI. In order to remove the RAI, you have to remove the driver door. I had to make an appointment with LR for their technician to remove the door. It all worked out fine.

Then I had my windshield covered with a protection film hoping it will prevent any rock chips and cracks in the future. It's from a company called Ultrafit Protection and the film is called Wincrest Evo. We'll see how it holds up but you can't tell its on there. Looking out from the drivers seat there is no distortion at all ...everything looks normal.

Watch Powerful UK's video on the RAI. It can be mounted and removed without removing the door. Pretty easy once you know the secret.

Lucky 8 has a video on it as well.
