Default Non OEM Windshield

Geico wants to have safelite install a non oem windshield in my 2023 Defender. They are saying the windshield is made by the same company and is the exact same but it just doesn't have the LR logo on it (which I'm finding hard to beleive). They also said that if there is anything wrong with it you would be able to replace it with a oem for no charge.

Any of you had a non oem installed and had problems? I've heard mixed reviews.

**Update- Safelite replaced with an aftermarket windshield, went pretty smoothly but the new one they installed has a purple-ish tint to it. I believe its the solar attuning tech. My original had solar attuning but without the tint. Trying to decide if I want to complain to Geico to get a OEM installed instead.

I got the non oem windshield and everything seems and looks ok to me. I can tell there is a little difference when it comes to using the windshield wipers. But besides that it seem all good. I had the same concerns as you but I could wait for an oem windshield.

Good to know that non-OEM windshields are now available. I had to replace Defender windshields three times and the OEM was the only available replacement.

They are made by the same company that makes the OEM JLR version. "Pillington", maybe? It's been documented here recently.

I think the Pillington windshield is better than the original. I had 2 rocks bounce off at 80mph on a recent roadtrip and not a mark.

I wondered if they slipstreamed better specs into their branded edition, since likely the JLR / OEM spec ones are all original spec.

We need a few more notes, like which version do you have? Solar tinted / heated / HUD means at least eight varieties (supposedly there's one with "none of the above"?)
