The camera for the mirror is up on the roof and pretty well protected. We've not had to clean it in the 6 months we've owned it so far. The same is not true for some of the bumper mounted cameras.

Not as much of an issue for the Clear Sight mirror cam, since it is mounted up high, recessed behind the shark fin antenna on the roof of the Defender, so far away and relatively well protected from mud splashes, dust and rain. The backup camera, on the other hand, is in its more traditional spot (just above the license plate) and more prone to getting dirty.

I have it in my hardtop and of course it’s a must due to poor visibility with the bulkhead behind me.
I can’t get used to seeing the cars behind me they look too close but I’m sure It will be fine after I’ve had it a while.
also I sometimes find myself looking in the mirror to check myself out and end up seeing the bus driver who’s behind me looking right at me 😂

Yep, mine stops me reversing if it gets dirty - same with the surround sensors constantly chiming. New cars have no visibility out the back so I guess it's the yin and yang of it - far better than hitting something/one.
