Default P400 Battery Fault/Gearbox Failure

2020 110 P400 w/ 39k miles. On a recent trip a Battery Fault message appeared, followed by ABS failure, Suspension failure, power steering failure, Gear Box failure. My defender completely shut off and went black while going 80mph down the interstate. it took only 20min from the initial battery fault message to the gear box failure and subsequent shutdown. Luckily I coasted off the interstate off ramp somehow. I had vehicle towed to LR dealer. Dealer is now saying they can not duplicate the fault and there are no error messages recorded from this incident. They have mentioned the BECM and charging the battery, but that’s it. Any advice or experience with this issue is much appreciated.

Glad you're ok.
Make them put in a new battery... Charging your battery is not an acceptable resolution to a customer complaint like this, I wouldn't think.

Probably going to replace my battery preventatively on my 2020 this coming year. (esp after reading things like this...)

I had that happen to me but luckily I was sitting at traffic lights. And after panicking a bit, I had to do a complete restart (into park, press the ignition switch like I was closing down, release the park break, every button I thought might be glitching). Pressed the start button; it worked and off I went. Not sure what it was other than maybe the auto-start shut me off completely?
Now I turn off AutoStart every time before I drive off.

That is a scary situation and glad you were able to safely pull off the road. This behoves me that the SA didn't ask the tech to do a battery health check unless I missed something. Charging the battery is a band aid fix and as Nash said I would demand a new battery on the premise of safety. I have 52k on my 2020 and if bad battery shuts down everything then I'm going to shop for a new battery as well as summer approaches along with road trips.

By the way is there a bigger better battery model that can fit Defender?

Check to see if the air box was properly tightened down on all six bolts and the air sensors on the back (facing driver) are attached.

When I had a mechanic replace my air filter, I got this error after. 15-20 minutes.

Y’all are saying he needs to “demand” a new battery, like it’s going to be free and the dealership will be reluctant to replace. The warranty is 4 years/50k, and I don’t even know if it would replace the battery during that entire timeframe. He doesn’t need to demand anything; just say, “Naw, I’d like to buy a new battery instead.” They’ll be happy to comply.

No, what I was saying is I would make sure I get a new battery - whether it's warranted or not, I would start with a new battery. Irrelevant who pays.
