Quick summary looking for some advice on a stubborn oil leak.
Vehicle: 2020 Range Rover L405 (3.0L MHEV P400) - Same engine on some of the L663s
Issue:
I have a slow oil leak coming from the rear/top of the engine, above the starter. Oil is sort of pooling up around the inspection plug (similar to LR183648 on the driver side), then slowly running down the exhaust side of the engine.
What’s been done so far:
Replaced rear upper timing cover + gasket
Replaced VCT solenoid O-rings
Replaced PCV / air oil separator diaphragm (this actually fixed a separate oil leak I had, so I likely had two leaks at once)
Problem is access is extremely tight and with the exhaust in the way it is hard to see much let alone get a hand in there.
Where I’m stuck:
If anyone has seen this on the 3.0 P400 or knows the usual failure points in the rear block / turbo-side area, I’d appreciate any input. With the starter removed With the starter removed Plug location Plug
