Arrow P400E Questions

Hi all
I am looking at a 110 Dynamic X Defender. I have test driven the HSE 400E and the experience was great, I did fall in love with it, but not sure that the extra cost will outweigh the costs at the pump if I go diesel.
My main question is if I was to do a long journey in petrol /engine mode only (lets assume battery is dead or saved for when I get to the destination) then what would you see the mileage consumption that you have seen?
I have googled the hell out of this and I have seen 26mpg banded about which is same as what people are saying they are getting out of the straight 2 litre diesel - so technically, that means I would be no worse off driving in petrol mode?

Need to decide as the order dates are so different.

Keen to get owners of the P400E views and opinions (and would you change your mind now after owning one!!)

I believe the P400E is basically just the P300 2L 4 cylinder engine plus the electric motor.

I have a P300 and get around 20mpg. It’s a 110, so a 90 might be minimally better. But if my understanding of the engine combo is right, I wouldn’t expect 26 when running in ICE only mode.

Absolutely. I wish we had the plug in version available. Would certainly be interested to in that too.

I have the D300 110 so don't have first hand experience with the P400e. I'm very happy with the diesel (so far). It has ample power and fuel economy is quite good. In city I get around 27 mpg and outside around 34 mpg (US) and it's still in break in so might slightly improve over time. This is with ladder and side box but without roof rack. On highway at 110 mph (Autobahn) mpg is around 19. Once I switch to ATs I suppose this will come down a bit.

I have just had my P400e for 2 weeks now and the huge difference is in the daily commute. If you within a 27mile radius return - then complete EV mode is a game changer. Long commutes / weekend drives on hybrid mode allows average 30-40mpg. Hope that helps.

The O/P hasn't been active on the forum since August 2022.

I hope they got their new Defender by now and are happy with it.

Personally 20mpg would be too low for me. l went for the D250 and l get 26-28mpg in the city, and 35-40mpg on the highway.

I believe the D300 is similar.
