Default Parts backorder

I have 2024 Defender with the 2l engine that has been at the dealer since Nov 6th, 2023 waiting on a replacement water pump. The fans were kicking in into overdrive almost every time I turned the engine off, almost no matter in what kind of weather. I also had an overheating alert when the car had 500 miles on the odometer, but that was diagnosed as a software issue and I drove 2500 miles after that with no issues. The dealer recommended to change the water pump, which I was glad to do, but so far there is no ETA on the part and it is on a global backorder. I have a case with JLR and I have escalated as high as I could, but I am still not getting any ETA or any answers really.
Anyone else here had similar experiences and might have any tips on how to get JLR to start moving?

If it's the primary water pump, part # LR154597, I see multiple sites with them in stock. If that's all they need, just buy one and bring it to them. Maybe there is something else wrong.

Apparently that is not compatible with the 2024 Defender. I don't even know what the part number would be. None of the sites carry any parts for 2024. Very annoying.

Interesting. Maybe they updated the water pump design. Either way, I wouldn't be happy waiting that long.

I'm sure they gave you an equivalent vehicle as a free loaner for all this time, though, right? Right???

I've been driving Porsches for over 20 years, always had one during that time. I have gotten an actual Porsche loaner one time in all that time, and it was a base model brown 2.7 liter Cayman while they fixed something under warranty in my 911 GTS. No biggie, I was just happy to have a free car, but if it had taken 90 days you can believe I wouldn't have been too happy.

Yes, I have been in a Jaguar F-Pace since I left my Defender with them, but I want my Defender back!

Well, darn, you did pretty well; it's no Defender but it's a decent MB GLC 300 competitor. Half the time I need a loaner for various newish cars they don't even have anything from their own lot and have Enterprise bring over a Chrysler product.

I'm honestly shocked they gave you a F-Pace for 3 months, although you deserve it, that's a pretty crappy situation. I was annoyed that my 2024 had the A-pillar issue within 500miles, guess I need to count my blessings

Coming up on 500 miles and my Def is holding together so far. Crossing fingers I got a good one.
