In 2021 I purchased a Defender 90 from Arizona back when I was studying there. I finished my studies and I moved back to Dubai United Arab Emirates and I brought my car with me. The problem is now that I can’t receive any Pivi updates over WiFi or the vehicles internal SIM card. It says WiFi not available and mobile data doesn’t work. I even inserted a nano SIM card into the slot next to the USB slot. I purchased the Gen3 Gap tool and activated many features on my Defender, and I was hoping that I can solve the Pivi updates issue by changing the CCF configuration to to suit the region that I’m at. I changed some configuration hoping for it it to work like:
Sorry for the troubles. but - something is not adding up here. If you bought that car in the US, in Arizona, your car did not come with the nano SIM slot in that photo. Not fitted on *any* NAS (North American) models. Did you replace that panel or something ? So that you could insert a sim?
Yes that correct, I did change the panel only so that I can insert a SIM card (with internet Data plan) and perform the PIVI updates. But with no luck. Also I tried to search the GAP tool for anything that I can configure that will activate the nano SIM card… still didn’t work.
The weird thing is that the car’s WiFi doesn’t pick up any wifi networks which are near by.
the car was linked to an incontrol app of the old owner, as soon as i got it deleted through the dealer. I connected my car to the wifi and clicked on update closed all doors and woke up the next morning the car is updated. Could you check if the car is linked to an incontrol owner? If so contact the dealer you bought the car from and get it removed
