Thanks...that's what I thought.
I run everything through CarPlay anyway, so I'm rarely using LR's traffic, etc.
The LR weather app worked like 5% of the time.
I don't use the Alexa app.

I'm still stuck at 4.2.1 since May 2025 and still showing up as up-to-date version when I checked yesterday. Dealer stated they 'couldn't' install newer PIVI software unless PIVI system shows it's available for my car when I requested 'force install'.
Any other guys have any luck dealer to force install newest version?

All updates my 90 has received to date have clearly stated which update (e.g. 4.1 or whatever) would be installed, and what changes would be made.

The current update that my car is nagging me about displays none of that. It's a mystery update. Has anyone else encountered this?

The best part of not installing updates is you don't get the bugs that might happen on the initial release.

Counterpoint, there's this "regression" thing where you get bugs that didn't exist before :/ Not trying to be facetious, this is just a part of life I have to deal with day in, day out.

Back to the topic - is there anything useful in 4.4.0 that makes it worth upgrading to? If it is just the "AI", I'm staying at 4.3.0.

Does anyone have any insights into reports that 4.4.0 is causing transmission issues on V8 Defenders?

Its remarkable to me that auto manufacturers waste so many resources thinking that they can do software better than actual software companies. How much cheaper could a Defender be if JLR didn't waste time with frivolous software development that could be better handled by companies who actually do software as the primary way to generate returns for their shareholders.

Pivi is for sure one of the better systems IMO, but there's no need for JLR to spend time on voice assistants, navigation, streaming apps or any features that are not tied directly to the mechanical functions of the vehicle.

Was following this thread, and when I started my Defender today got the update notice for 4.4 but reading some previous posts, I’m waiting for a consensus before I load it. Seems to be some dissatisfaction and bugs according to some. Waiting and watching closely.
