I purchased my car in Feb 2025 and my last and only update was May 2025 to PIVI version 4.2.2. Then never received any update since then. When I asked my dealer, they informed me that they have no way to force-install latest PIVI software if my car does not receive any update notification.

I had online pack (just expired last week and no plan to renew) and connected with my home WIFI hoping, I may get an update notification but no luck.
searched if I can find what could be latest PVI available for my VIN but no luck . I really hope someone can have better and clear answers what logics they use.

Another member mentioned that this happened to his 2 LRs and he resets OTS TCM functions and finally got OTA update. But I dont think we can reset OTS TCM with Gap Tools.

Truthfully, if your vehicle is operating correctly and you don't have any huge issues that an OTA update specifically addresses - then its not a huge deal not getting them IMO. More often than not - as is suspected with the recent onslaught of DC to DC converter failures - the OTA's break things more than they fix.

Thanks to Smartphones and the nefarious machinations of Tesla, consumers are now conditioned to expect OTA's as a requirement for ownership. I do understand the dopamine-like hit of excitement "oh I'm getting something new!" when the OTA message pops up on the PIVI screen. To me, if the vehicle is operating properly then the OTA's can get stuffed.

I'm on the same boat with you on this. Mainly why I'm so interested getting an update is really 2 things:
1. reverse visibility update
2. more stable connection for CarPlay.

Everything else, I really dont care as they all work fine. But these are 2 things really annoyed me, not a deal breaker but just annoying. I added reverse lights which helped alot for night parking but it just look damn ugly and breaks clean cut lines with rear bumper and tailgate (I may be the only one amazed by sharp indented cut lines) and breaking beautiful iconic (for new defender) 4 square lights at night.

And the CarPlay. 80% of time, works fine but in heavy traffic area (like arena parking for sporting/music event), it often drops CarPlay connection (while phone itself works fine) and whenever I pass certain area, it always drops and rarely it does not connect when Defender started.

I'm really hoping to address these 2 things with updates. Anyone actually noticed better night visibility and better CarPlay connection from older vs. newer Pivi versions?

If you're using wireless carplay, this can happen when passing by certain buildings that are giving off interference. Medical buildings especially cause this kind of behavior in my experience.

To test this, if there is a place where it always disconnects, try using wired carplay next time you drive by it and see if still drops out.

Yup this is correct, less to do with software (well maybe it could be or help with it) but it is more related to certain places that have very strong other wireless/frequency broadcasts which kills the wifi CarPlay connection. Even in Seattle I have a couple of places where this happens each and every time.

I am still stuck on Pivi 3.2.1 for my 2022 D250 HSE. I have tried a lot of different connections and driving 1000+ kms. No luck yet.
