Shortly after discovering the problem with my sunroof that I just post about, I noticed there seems to be a lot of play in my steering column. I can literally move it up and down approximately a quarter of an inch. The motorized adjustment works fine, but I don’t think the entire column should move the way it does. I assume the steering is drive-by-wire, so I doubt there’s much of a safety concern but then again….

How much does your steering column move.

Mine has no play whatsoever (not even a little)

I'd say you have a problem / broken motor / something isn't right.

Are you certain it's the new Defender you've purchased, and not one of the old ones?
