Default Port Installed Accessories

My dealer is telling me that they aren't able to do port installed accessories, and thus he submitted my order without them, and that any accessories can be added by the dealer at time of delivery. Has anyone else heard this or is this just another method to make money? I was specifically looking at wheel arch protection, and mud flaps.

My order was submitted with several port installed accessories, including the wheel arch protection. The car was built in the last couple of weeks and is awaiting transport. The sales rep told me last week that they already know that the port installed accessories will not be installed. It sounds like there is a shortage of most or all of the accessories.
The dealer can install them, but usually at a higher cost.

I was able to get the front under shield added to my order but my sales rep left off the mudflaps as he said they could add them (at twice the price). Ive asked three times and he ignored me about adding them. This latest time he told me how great of feedback hes receiving from people who have bought the defender. Literally that is how he escaped the question.

It's interesting how if an accessory is not available when the vehicle gets to port, it later gets installed at the dealer at a higher rate. That seems like a double loss. You'd think they would honor the port installed price if it's JLR's supply problem...

I dont like the US car dealership system. I wish we could buy direct and cut out the middle man.

Just placed an order and the salesman said he included those accessories to be included at the port because, he said, it saves me money since I don't have to pay the service dept at the dealer - the dealer he works at. Sounds like your dealer is trying to do the opposite and make more money for his dealership at your expense.

Fellas: Alibaba and Aliexpress use the same manufacturers as JLR and sells the accessories at half the price but the same quality! Don’t worry!

Explorer roof rack yes!
lunch box yes!
side ladder yes!
step rails yes!
front tow hook n shield yes!
aluminum side bar tube rails yes!

Question mark?
winch tray?
tow hitch?
