Cross-shopped the GX550 and Defender and ended up with a '24 Defender S 130 (P400). The Lexus was more luxurious inside at a given price point, but we liked the Defender's interior better for our family/dog driven use case. Most importantly, though, the Lexus felt more cramped inside and I was honestly surprised at how crudely it drove and rode compared to the Defender. Just one person's opinion, so definitely test drive both for yourself. Dealers in NYC suburbs were offering at MSRP and had some decent options either on the lot or arriving within a few weeks.
