Powerful Uk
That's not really the correct comparison. If you are physically in the US you pay sales tax (if applicable). If you are not in the US, but buying from the US, you do not generally pay sales tax.
However if you are a visitor in US, you can claim that tax back when you leave. Same way in UK.
"PowerfulUK" does what is called in the EU, VAT claw back. It charges you as a buyer, for a BS reason, and then it claims it back in UK from the tax office, because was sold outside of UK.
How ? Technically you weren't charged a VAT tax, you were charged a "20% overseas surcharge to cover our international insurance and administration costs" - a make-believe for the tax office in the UK, that the VAT was included.
So, at the end of the day they get the VAT back from the tax office in UK, and you were charged too ( called differently ).
I am not here to judge, nor am I am the tax man.... but I don't like this kind of BS.
If they want more money, just charge whatever ... but be honest.
Put a price whatever you think is fair, and if I want it bad, I'll pay, if not, not. This... leaves a bad taste, and is not honest.
Again, is a matter of principle.
Correct. You pay the tax in the country where you are physically. Nothing we can do about that.

Simon could handle that part more elegantly and nobody would ever realize. My shrimps-on-the-barbie don't know they're paying more than the leafs but it is necessary to maintain margins and provide great support to the upside-down.
i also changed out all my interior lights and got one set of the blue fade to white or whatever way for the footwell. i didn’t realize all interior lights where the same and don’t think i installed the color changing ones in the right place. didn’t notice the blue at all so wondering if that’s going to cause some electrical issues
Mine work great. You can see how they should behave in this video - doors open, doors closed and stealth mode on.
I believe they now sell another model of footwell LEDs where you can select the color of the light (red or blue) - when the doors are shut - with a switch on the assembly.

but back to Powerful UK. they def have mark ups on their oem stuff. know that and know that if if it says in stock it’s in stock. in this day and age that’s worth more than the mark up.
their install videos are amazing. love they take the time for every product they sell to do a video

Do you know if they have any promo codes for this forum by chance?
Lucky 8 discount code ASDEF2 for 5% off
Enjoy!
i bought replacements for basically all interior lights and didn’t pay attention to the boxes as i was installing them. foot well, door and boot lights are actually all the same fitment of light
so i actually have no idea where i installed them but don’t see any lights being blue which is the confusing part. guess i have to take them all out and pay more attention
i did also install their new led reverse light with yellow hazard lights. the reverse lights work but the hazard does not. i followed their instructions

The bright white footwell lights that turn to blue when the doors are shut? They install in the, uh, footwells of both driver and front passenger. Where did you install yours?

Now a days you have to double and almost triple check everything.......look at airbnb....$300 a night sounds like a steel until you find out there is an additional $500 cleaning fee, $400 booking fee, taxes etc. Its really just a scam so you cant compare apples to apples.
Everything should be priced inclusive of tax applicable to your location. Simon clearly does not mind how he is operating towards his non uk/eu customers. I think that is bad business as well. I ordered some items from them and have watched many videos but frankly reading about this sours me on them. I would be embarrassed if I charged my customers a tax that was not applicable.
