If your dealer doesn't have any allocation left to give you, an unslotted order could end up getting built as a '23 and that would almost certainly involve a substantial price increase, reduced features, and a repeat of the confusion they had when they converted orders from '21 to '22. People lost out on previously standard features like Clearsight and air suspension because the LR website didn't match the ordering system and dealers didn't know they were now add-ons.
When my sales rep didnt know the answer to something he tended to just ignore the question. In some cases I have an email chain where, when I was being forced to slot into a my22 order from a my21 order, where he simply does not answer all of the questions.
I moved to the XS model which was marketed as having air suspension standard. Here is a copy of that press release:
This turned out to not be true as I got charged the cost for it. My sales rep made the argument that there is a lot of incorrect reporting on various websites and to only trust JLR about what the models have (at the time I switched my build this was most comprehensive info about the XS model). This comes from the official Land Rover USA press release. The information is still listed inaccurately. When I told the sale rep that the information is from LR USA and its false advertising he just ignored it.

@Moretti they aren't even shy about it anymore.
They might as well just say, "you get what you get and don't throw a fit".

I have a deposit on one for the wife. $1000 refundable. Due in Early '22. Backed heavily by Amazon and Ford.
