I may purchase the Johnson rods but curious if there would be issues with the stock suspension.
to anyone considering Johnson, or any brand lift rods, consider investing in a GAP IIDTool V4 instead. it can do the same thing through software, allowing you to customize lift in 1mm increments. it's also a full obd diagnostic tool that lets you do all sorts of stuff like activate features or perform diagnostics
In our BMW and Mercedes community and NSX community Nitto tires have always been garbage. They look cool but have always had issues with noise and wearing out fast.
They look cool for sure and will look great with my aggressive Urban 22s and wider fenders.
But $1600 for a set? That’s laughable. These are $200 a pop tires at most. Sad to see Nitto think they can charge these prices on their tires.
Hi. Noob to the forum but it has been extremely helpful as I've done some research on my new 2024 Land Rover Defender 130. In case anyone is interested, I just replaced the stock Continental Tires which are 275/45/r22 with Mickey Thompson Baja boss A/T tires 285/45/r22. These were installed without any lift or spacers and they seem to be entirely fine with no rubbing. In fact there seems to be plenty of clearance room. Ordered them and had them installed through Discount Tire.
don't know if this will help anyone else but as I was researching other tires the user feedback on the 285s with the 22-in rims was helpful to me.
Most of you folks are running the +45 22x9 stock wheels and you won’t rub at all with 285 tires. It’s not aggressive enough.

Been a little bit. how are you still liking them? Can you comment on how much if any added noise?
How are the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires for Hwy Noise?
I'm considering replacing the stock Continental Tires with the Mickey Thompson Baja boss A/T tires 285/45/r22 as well. Anyone have any feedback concerning road noise generated from the tire and how it handles during the occasional snow? Only 10% of my driving is on the Hwy and even less in snow, but I'm looking for a tire that will handle ski trips.
I have had the Mickey's now for about 3 weeks and they are fantastic. I do get a little bit of float when driving but other than that they're fantastic. Haven't used them in any major snow yet but the little snow I was in they seem to be just fine. Jammed on my brakes in the snow have about an inch and they seem to slow down the car nicely without getting out of control.
if there's any additional road noise I certainly don't notice it
