On my XS, the black ones were installed for transport and then removed for delivery...doesn't make much sense!

So I'm worried that the extensions won't be as easy to just pop-off as the smaller factory wheel arch protectors and I may damage them? I realize that I shouldn't install my mudflaps until after I've removed the rear bumper for the tow eyes install, but has anyone installed these WITH the wheel arch extension kit successfully.

Thanks in advance for your experience.
It appears to me that you should NOT have to remove the wheel arches to remove the rear bumper. PowerfulUK popped out the lower arch clips, but when they removed the bumper it appears that it could have been done without popping those clips. Judge for yourself at 16:45:

Also, the extended arches use clips and double tape.

Thanks for that, very helpful! When I posed the question to Powerful UK, Simon pointed me to this comment under that video which is promising as well:1) The wheel arch flares can be delicately removed and don’t need to be ripped off with consequent loss of those little white clips. With the wheel arch liner folded back, you can reach inside, squeeze the back of the white clips and gently remove the plastic trim.
2) Beware above: If you have the extended wheel arches (explorer pack etc), they are also attached with sticky foam on the leading edge - which you don’t want to be pulling off. Just release the white clips as above and the rear edge will free up enough to release the bumper.

You can't see them in the photos above, but I installed the recovery eyes on my Defender with factory fitted wide wheel arches. They are not an issue at all, you will be able to remove the bumper cover without disturbing, unclipping or ungluing either arch trim back there. There is a tiny "locating" lip at the edge of the arch that slides under the bumper cover, but it doesn't get in the way of removing the bumper, at all. It's small enough that it's not even necessary to unclip the lower end of the arches. No worries.

I have the opposite problem! I thought mine wasn't going to have them so I ordered a set from PowerfulUK. They arrived before the Defender which was then changed from a 2021 model to a MY2022 and it had them already! Now I have a set on my hands. I guess I'll try to sell them on ebay or the next Rover Rally.

What color did you get? Some reason JLR dropped them for the my22 XS model so I will be in the market for them.

Black recovery eyes with the black trim to fit around them. Don't remember what they are called!

I am in the market for a set if you don't have any takers.
