Default Reversing Camera Fishbowl Distortion

Love my Defender, but am having trouble getting adjusted to the rear camera. It's such a distorted fishbowl view (relative to my RR Sport '14) and I feel like it's going to get me into all sorts of potential accidents.

Anyone else have this issue, have a workaround solution? Is there a way to replace that camera?

That is the only thing that drives me crazy about the Defender. Fisheye camera makes me feel like I’m going to back into something when I still have several feet. I was able to get inches away from an object with my old Yukon with complete confidence. Only solution is to look at the smaller camera view on the left that shows the entire vehicle.

I totally feel you. When I reverse it always looks like something is going to hit me from the side because of the distorted lens view. It's also extremely hard to tell when I'm getting close to something... and then all of a sudden I'm right on stop of it. The camera is too distorted to accurately rely on.

Hm weird, mine is not fisheye when I put it in reverse. I mean a slight bit like all lenses but I would say it's on par with any other rear camera on a modern premium car car I've had.

I'm wondering - Do you just have the rear camera or the full camera package?

If you just have the rear camera, I guess that is what it is. But on mine, which has all the cameras, there are TWO rear camera settings in the surround camera settings. One is the little camera dead center rear.. it's NOT fish eye. But if you hit either of the rear side corner camera icons, it's super fisheye. You might just need to toggle between the two.

Also if you have the tow package, you can put the camera on tow view and really see up close to where you are to a wall if you want to ignore the beeping sounds

Maybe you could just, you know, learn to drive.

What is the point of a post like this? The vehicle comes with a camera. It should work effectively. Using it should not make the chance of hitting something more likely.
Love when someone can't help solve a concern but has to post an aggressive and totally unhelpful response.
