Default Rim corrosion? and suggested new tires?

I have a 2021, with the 19'' rims - and I got a tire that randomly started going flat, very slowly with no nail. Finally took it in and the tech said it was leaking due to paint corrosion on the wheel causing small gaps in the bead seal area, causing the air to slowly leak out.

Anyone else experience this? 92.6k miles on the car

And I currently have the good year wrangler duratec tires on it which I absolutely love but they apparently stopped making them...any other favorite tire you have that can handle snow and mud?

These are alloy rims? And you live in a salt-free state? Corrosion around the bead of a wheel causing a seal failure and consequential slow leak is totally a thing, but I just wouldn't expect it on a 5 year old vehicle in California or FLA.

Honestly, I'd get a 2nd opinion.

Good idea on the second opinion. The tire tech just said it was leaking from the bead area, and then he popped it off, the paint was all corroded so he cleaned it up. I'll know later tonight or tomorrow if it worked - it's a pretty slow leak. it has spent the last 3 years in California, and garaged not driven much in the last 6 months as its become the 3rd car. I assumed picked up a nail after I replaced the rear brakes a few days ago and took it out on the road to break them in, but never could see a nail.

I'd look for a different tech. Not happening from paint chips.

Are you looking for stock size 255/65R19? Goodyear's website shows the Wrangler Duratrac available to add to cart. You may want to try ordering directly through them.

Unfortunately there are almost no tires for the 19" wheels. 255/65R19 is exclusive to the L663. There is no other car on the planet that has that tire size. I would highly suggest getting an 18" wheel or 20" wheel.

I am currently looking for five new tires and there are none in the United States. Hopefully they will have a KO3 out soon before I am on bald tires.

Really?!! I am super excited. Does that make me an old man now that I am excited for a tire release?
