Baby Needs New Shoes
Even though I have about 75% tread left my 6 year old tires are suffering from dry rot and probably not safe anymore
Any thoughts on a decent snow tire close to our original MS Michelins ? Don't want to bust the budget as they will just dry rot out again
How about 235/70 General Grabber arctic HTS 60 tires ?

I've been running Vredestein Pinza AT's (235/70-16) for about 18 months. They're the best tires I've had on Indy and they have the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. They're great in snow, ice, rain and they have a cushy ride.
They've got 10k miles on them now and the tread still looks new. I have a second set of rims with Bridgestone Blizzak DMV-2's mounted on them, but I haven't used them since I purchased the Vred's. My previous tires were Firestone Destination LE 2's that lasted 51k. The Firestone's were good dry highway tires, but were slippery in the rain and were total crap in ice and snow. The Blizzak's have 52k on them and they could probably go another season or two. I can't believe how easy this D1 is on tires.
I think the Vred's are around $170/tire now, but they had an amazing rebate a while back and they have a distribution center in Denver so I picked them up and saved the shipping cost. They worked out to approx. $112/tire.
I do like General tires, too. I ran a set of Altimax Arctic's on my daughter's Mazda 3 during the winter here in Colorado and they were great tires.
