Default S mode doesn't shift anymore

Hello,

First time LR owner and new to this forum.

For about a month, I was driving in the S mode of the gearshift which would hold gears longer and be a bit more responsive, but... Today it stopped shifting in S mode and sticks with the current gear which is displayed on the dashboard eg: S2, S5 etc... I'm not sure if I changed something, but it now doesn't shift. Any idea what Ive done and how to bring the shifting back?

Flip it to D and back to S? Sport mode shifts automatically if you just flip the lever from right to left (D to S), but once you upshift or downshift by pulling or pushing the lever while in Sport mode, it switches to CommandShift (manual shifting), and that's when the display shows S2, S3, etc. instead of just a generic S, to let you know which gear you're in for manual shifting. Quickest way to resume automatic Sport shifting is to quickly move the shifter to Drive and back to Sport mode.

I tried that this morning again. No working. As many times as I flip back and forth it always comes back to S with a number and isn't shifting. Any other ideas? Is there some other mode I need to change?

No faults or other warning lights popping up? Car shifts fine in Drive? Terrain Response is in regular (Comfort or ECO) mode? That's odd. I would try a battery reset before consulting a dealer... Disconnect the negative lead from the battery under the front passenger seat (LH drive vehicles), wait 5 minutes and reconnect. It's a bit of a pain because you may need to reset one-shot windows, probably the system clock, perhaps some radio presets..., but worth a shot.

I don't see any faults and the car shift fine, but I have it in auto terrain response. It works in comfort. I guess RTFM. Thank you.
