Service has to drive it 60+ miles?
anecdotal replies aside. if someone needs to drive 30 miles to deactivate a code , they then need to turn around and drive back another 30 miles. if they stop and pick up food to go and bring it back to the shop, id say they were being efficient. customers are usually not smart.
C’mon, they disclosed this up front. You think the shop manager likes his guys spending an hour driving around in a customer’s car? No doubt it’s necessary, and no doubt the shop would be better off financially if they just skipped that part and got onto repairing the next car. Let you test the thing; let you reset the 9 emissions registers by driving 35-50 miles. If there’s still a coolant leak you’ll find it when there’s a puddle on your garage floor, you’ll bring it back, and they can try again.
But no; instead, they selfishly decided to spend an extra hour-plus on your car making sure you didn’t have to bring it back a second time. ********. There’s no question they’re going to be out bumping it off the rev limiter while doing VMax runs. I mean, that one shop guy did that with a Corvette, right?
