The 4 banger Petrol is also the lightest, gearing 4,11 , 18" , combined with the active rear difflock, makes the most capable L663 available.

You all watched the video on Eastnor Castle, they used the 90 P300...

Just my 2cents..

This. Precisely why I went with the 4c.

I'm coming up on 3k miles on my P300 and I love it. The engine is smooth and as many have pointed out, no turbo lag at all. In the city I flip it to Sport mode and turn off the auto start/stop and the P300 feels almost quick It's a genuine pleasure to drive on the highway. I've made two 800 mile round-trips, empty on the way out, full of furniture on the way back, gas mileage was not as good loaded, but passing and cruising at 85 was no problem at all.

We test drove the P400 before the P300 and were a bit worried because you can definitely feel the difference in the two engines. We have the tow package, just in case, but we're never going to be towing heavy on the regular, so ultimately decided the $12k upgrade for the mild hybrid was NOT worth it for us.

Plus we really wanted the white steelies, the wheels were the deal breaker for the P400

I went with P300 as well. Didn't want the extra complexity of LR electronics and felt the 300 has enough power for me offroad. I also really wanted the 18 inch steel wheels. She cruises great. I just bought a boat, so we will see how she tows but I dont plan to tow far. I also have a supercharged L322 with 510hp for towing.

I don’t know. I test drove both and the P400 is butter smooth throughout the power band and definitely has more high speed passing power as you’d expect from the HP rating. P300 is fine, but the P400 is a lot of fun and I believe is a safer engine for high speed driving where passing power can actually be a safety feature.

I have had my P300 since November and am about to hit 6K. Like brydup, I too find this engine just perfect and just enough.
I have been towing a 575lb trailer and a Bombardier Renegade 800 which weighs in at 600lbs and then with the roof top tent and other camping and riding paraphernalia, plus myself and the family we are dragging close to a couple thousand pounds, but with that the 4 cylinder has performed admirably. Obviously I see a reduction in mpg, but that is to be expected, but it's not like the engine labors or struggles, even up or down the hills.

Only in the 90, I have a 110. Or I should say, in the US, I am pretty sure springs are only available in the 90... Other parts of the world may be getting 110s with springs, I have no idea.

When I read about the coil-spring 90, my initial thought was that it would be cool to do a proper old-school lift on a new Defender. Then I thought a little more about the idea of lifting a front and rear independent coil-spring suspension unibody truck. It might be kind of a nightmare. It can certainly be done, but it won’t be cheap, and it won’t be simple.

The air suspension trucks can be lifted with a simple <$100 kit in under an hour...

LittleEngine -- in the US, the MY2022 90 and 110 both come standard with coil springs, and air suspension is an option.

Is that confirmed beyond that Reddit thread with the alleged Land Rover internal document?

If you go on the US Land Rover site now and explore the various features on the 2022 models by clicking “key features” the base 90 says “coil suspension” in the capabilities” section... but if you look at the 110 models, there is no mention of coil suspension in the capabilities section of the base model. Seems like they would have mentioned it.

That said, perhaps the key features section isn’t entirely complete... clicking through each tier model, the various key features sections state that a model will have all the previous tier model’s features plus whatever else is listed... but you can click all the way through to the top-end 90 models, and air suspension is never mentioned. Surely it won’t be an option for all 90 models? I mean, the carpathian edition will probably come stock with air, right?

Interesting stuff at any rate...
