Lightbulb Size of brake discs in relation to disc size

Here is an overview of the size of the brake discs for the New Defender as specified by JLR depending on the size of the discs you order the car with.
There are a lot of questions about wheel replacement, so hopefully this little table will help.

18" Wheels - front brake discs diameter 349mm, rear diameter 325mm
19" Wheels - front brake discs diameter 363mm, rear diameter 350mm
20+22" Wheels - front brake discs diameter 380mm, rear diameter 365mm

If you order the P400 with 19" you get smaller brake discs according to the table. Brake calipers are the same. It's the same for other models, but I can't confirm after. (for example P300, D300?)

In the case of replacing wheels on a 19+20+22" vehicle with 18" wheels, it is necessary to replace the rear brake callipers from RR sport. There is a lot written about this here on the forum. According to me, it is also necessary to replace the brake calliper bracket because on models with 18" wheels the JRL is differently specified from brake calliper holders for vehicles with 19+20+22" wheels (I cannot confirm).
If anyone has further details. Write it here.
Thank you and keep it running!

Thanks for this, it will be helpful for a lot.

Your use of the term disc, seems to correlate to wheel size-disc, as well as brake rotor-disc. This could be confusing. (was to me at least, or im still confused)

I believe you can get the 20" and 22" wheels with the 365/350mm rotors still. It is only the X that gets automatically upsized to the 380mm/365mm brake w/ 5098 package.

Its hard to source this information, thanks for putting this together.

Finding aftermarket wheels for these vehicles is hard enough, let alone navigating the brake variations.

Perhaps a master list of known wheels and fitments should be the next sticky post hahaha.

Paradigma - I know, my bad English ...
I've already fixed it.
But I am comfortable on the forum among you same enthusiasts as me.
In Europa, the New Defender forum is too general and without details.

Thanks for all the information on this... so I'm clear... I have a Defender X w/ 380mm rotors and WON'T be able to put OEM wheels due to rotor size. Did I get that right?

If you have a p400 defender delivered with 22's, you can switch to OEM 20's. (been there and done that with my '22 X-dynamic HSE). And if you have a p400 delivered with 20's, you can switch to OEM 22's. You will have dealers telling you all kinds of reasons why it doesn't work because of the rotors, calipers, discs, etc, but trust me (and the many others out there who've made the swap), it does.

@sj24k Thank you!!! I'm going out of my mind with this stuff since LR doesn't actually give you the information. I was going to order one wheel and actually measure the inside to see if it could take a 380MM rotor. I've called two dealerships trying to get a clear answer and they don't have one. I'm holding my breath right now since I picked up a pair of OEMs of a RR that say they will fit. Probably won't work and I'll go crazy.

@sj24k I'll post a picture when I'm done and hope it ends on a good note. I'll include the final product with some Falken AT3s, LK8 hidden wench, rock sliders and Rotopax kit. :-)
