Hi all, new to the forum.

I'm about to commit to a 2023 Defender SE that has the Tow Hitch Receiver option (car is already built, getting my hands on it was luck). It does NOT include the more expensive Advanced Towing Package or Advanced Tow Assist.

I've heard stories of some vehicles coming with only the hardware hitch and not the electronics. But no one at the dealership seems to be able to confirm that the Tow Hitch Receiver option includes electronics. All I'm looking for is the plug for a trailer lights (brake lights, turn signals, etc).

Can someone here who's ordered the same option confirm for me if the option includes the trailer plug?

 

I only ordered the tow hitch for bike rack purposes.
did not add any tow package.

What I have:
-tow hitch receiver that will accept 2" square accessories
-2 electrical plugs, standard 4 pin, and another round one that is labeled land rover connector
(the 4 pin works for lights, towed a small uhaul trailer) , don't know about round one assuming it works as well
-tow camera view, which shows red dot for hook up when you are not connected to anything

 

I ordered "just the receiver" as well. Mine came with all necessary plugs for electronics and all electronics work as they should with the car's signals.
