Default Strange running light behavior

2022 Defender 110. The front left running lights are out most of the time - except after I signal a left-hand turn…then the white marker lights around the signal turn on for about two seconds, before cutting out again. Anyone else experience an issue like this? I assume it’s not a fuse … my next guess is just replace the entire headlamp?

Took two photos of the headlamps reflecting in another vehicle (the second one is after I signaled a left-hand turn):

Light control modules apparently have issues, many DR lights are out.
No recall from JLR.

Yet.

A worryingly common failure. All over the interwebs.

This has class action written all over it.

3-4 grand per headlight. A nice little earner for LR once warranty is up. No doubt folks in the UK will start having their functioning lights nicked any day.

Basic lights are immune so far as there's no switching circuit but I don't see a lot of them, most were sold with upgraded premium/matrix.
Dimming dash is also an issue but nobody bothers at JLR.
