Question Swapping out the 18" Steelies

Hi all,

I purchased a '21 110 with the factory 18" White Steel Wheels.

I'd love to upgrade to some black or gray alloys - ideally in a larger diameter - but the size is not a deal breaker.

There seem to be a lot of nuances to a wheel swap on the new defenders - between making sure they're the right fit and getting the sensors to work. So I'm finding it a little daunting.

I was hoping people here might have some ideas on the most cost-effective ways in which to go about it?

OEM wheels - even a used set on ebay - seem to come at a pretty stiff price.

Is there a reputable aftermarket dealer that doesnt break the bank?

Open to new or used options.

Open to selling or trading the steelies. (Boston, MA)

Would a set from a Range Rover fit?

Any input is very much appreciated!

The things people call “upgrades”. Those steelies are awesome and I’d have them on my Defender in a second if I didn’t have the P400. Those are certainly the best wheels to have if you plan any off roading, and they look amazing. Going to bigger aluminum wheels isn’t necessarily an improvement unless you’re just after on-road handling, which will only improve so much on a truck this big, as nice a handling rig as the Defender is.

If I were you, I'd powder coat those steelies in dark grey or black, and call it a day.

FWIW I am debating dropping my order down to a p300 to get the the steelies and have a more off-road looking version of the defender. Obviously whichever style you are going for that makes you happy is most important IMO....Powder coating black like mentioned above would also look sweet and be alot cheaper and still give you best offroad viability.

I have five 20” style 5098 wheels (with OEM offroad tires) in satin dark grey, if you’re interested. Around 200 miles on them. I’d do an even swap if you pick up our shipping. PM me, if you wish. Cheers.

Hey man, I received your PM and tried to reply, but I got an error message saying you had exceeded your maximum saved message storage, and needed to delete some messages before you could receive any more...

My son bought the Base Model simply for the 18" Steelies..........many buyers wish LR had made them available across the board, for all versions of The Defende simply because they are the best looking, most retro off-road styled wheels .All the other wheels offered by LR might as well be on a Range Rover for the wife to go shopping with at the Mall

Put on a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT 265/70/18. Good to go!!!!

The steelies are the best wheels. The white didn't go with my color scheme so I powdercoated them black and add some 265/70r18 X3 MT tires.
