Default Swapping out my 2003 Tcase -- quick questions!

Hey everyone!

So my 2003 had its transfer case blow up a few weeks ago a long was from home so I'm taking the opportunity to swap it for one that has the capability to lock out the CDL. I've found both a 1999-2001, and a 2004 style Tcase that I'd be comfortable ordering in. Neither come with any shifters/linkages. My question is whether I could install either of these cases with my 2003's linkages/tcase shifter - I assume I'd need to crawl under the truck with a wrench to activate the CDL in that case but would everything else fit together and function alright? Alternatively, If I also order the respective Tcase shifter for the 99-01 or 2004 Tcase, will that alone also give me the ability to activate the CDL? Seems that these trucks have an additional lateral position on the tcase shifter that activates the CDL as opposed to the up and down only shifter positions of my 2003 for high and low. Am I missing anything else I need before I order these and is one Tcase (99-01 vs. 04) generally seen as a better option for my 2003 D2?

Thanks so much in advance!

Either case will bolt right in, but only the 04 shifter will give you CDL
