ls that feature not included on the "Blind Spot Assist" package?

You may be able to activate it with the GAP tool

Keep the lock button but add an UNLOCK button on the passenger side front door. On our trip last night we stopped at a highway rest stop in not a great area. Didn't want to leave our stuff unattended as I once saw a family come out of a rest stop together to find their window smashed and all their luggage and Christmas gifts stolen. Told my wife to lock the Defender while I ran in but when I came out she has to climb over to reach the driver side unlock button.

Better headlights. I have a '23 110 S with the non-signature LED's and they are simply the most pathetic things. The first time I used them I thought maybe I just had the parking lights on. But no, those are the actual headlights. I swear they're no better than having pair of candles or tea lights up there.

Grab handles on the A pillars would be great.

Otherwise, I love my Defender.

Default Larger Wheel Wells

How about re-profiling the wheel wells to accept a 35 inch tire?

No disrespect intended whatsoever, however, a gentle tug on the passenger door lever is all it takes to unlock the car. You don't even need to pull it enough to open the passenger door, maybe just a 1/4 pull on the door lever will do the trick. For those who must have an unlock button on the passenger side, has anyone tried installing the switch from the driver's side? I wonder if they are interchangeable?

No disrespect taken - I had no idea that pulling on the passenger door handle would unlock the driver side door. Thanks so much for this simple solution!

I had no idea either. Thank you @GHasley for this little nugget of information.

I completely agree. So the way you "unlock" the doors from the passenger door is by pulling the handle. Figured this out awhile ago ..> But it makes no sense.. my partner once sat in the car for like 2 mins trying to figure out how to unlock it to let me in. He eventually did the same and reached across.

Alas, in my US spec Defender the blind spot monitor is standard. I’m not aware of any option for a Blind Spot Assist package available in the US. Is that an option in other areas of the world? And does that package include blind spot warnings in the Heads Up Display?

Thanks-

- I'd like a button on the tailgate to lock the vehicle, like the other door handles. There are times when done driving and I need to get something out of the trunk, then I want to lock it and have to go to one of the handles or the FOB. It would be nice to just click the button on the back door handle.
- I'd like to have a door over the space above the glove box, so it would be a second compartment for stuff. I know that the older defenders had this and it's tradition, but i hate clutter and would like to see something similar to the sports - a compartment that we can store items, without having to see them.
- I shouldn't have to buy a piece of molded plastic to get a storage tray in the center console - Land Rover should design that area better so it has the tray there and we can access the storage underneath better. Maybe it's a door that flips up, like the center console...but, it's annoying to try and reach items that are stuck under in that space under the cup holders.
-To your first point: Assuming I approach my locked car, I can hit the "trunk" button on my key fob, the trunk is unlocked. When I open the trunk and get out what I need, I close it; then the car locks again. It's automatic that way, so I don't have to hit another button. the back lights flash, letting me know it's locked. Do the newer models no longer do this? I also have it programmed for 1 stage unlocking (all 4 doors at once) so I don't have to hit the fob twice when there's multiple doors that need opening. simple & nice.
-as for what JLR should be offering: I'm holding out for the solid roof they initially offered, plus 18" rims with bigger wheel arches. I know folks love the panoramic glass, but I have that now and I want a change. As for the rims, it's not that the 19" are terrible - it's more that I am limited in tire selection by having it that way. It would be nice to get some KO2 tires on there, or the ones with Kevlar. But the wheel arch spacing and rim/tire selection on Defender is a bit limiting. If someone wants big rims, great, sell them that way. But if you want to expand the tire choices on your $100k Defender, you're going to be limited by the rim size JLR fits Defender with. If JLR made a trim for buyers that absolutely don't care about 0-60 speeds or top speeds, they may trade some acceleration HP for low end torque and get a more pokey Defender that can work with the 18" rims. Hasn't happened yet though... I highly doubt the GX Overtrail with 18" rims and a solid roof is co-incidence. The GX was built to favor torque over racing HP, and it's going to fill a void JLR has thus far refused to configure Defender to fill.
