Sounds like the legal department at JLR put their input into the decision, especially when people report that the dealership refuses to install them. They want to avoid liability, but I can’t imagine a couple pairs of skis or snowboards on top of a 5,000+ vehicle would lend to it tipping over. If so, there are bigger problems in design.

if anything your task is made a lot easier as you don’t have to remove the rails and address all the annoying loctite bedazzled bolts.

oddly enough. The new Octa has its own roof rack and rails. More horses and a dynamic roof rating greater than zero.

regular v8. Mount your rack/rails and enjoy the damn thing.

welcomw btw.
Almost a year later now for this thread and it was confusing at first to be reading because all I've been seeing are new 2025 110 and 130's with roof rail/tracks already factory installed on V8's, around here in Seattle anyway. Then I did find the online builder mentioning you get factory rails with "0" load rating LOL. It seems the easiest solution was to just have them there instead of the constantly failing trim strip but then to say you can't legally use them.

I would be bolting on a Rhino Rack base in the first week to mount my big Bundutec roof tent. Or, at the very least I will figure out a direct mount to the threaded body holes that the factory track uses.

I do wish the 130 had proportionally longer tracks though.

I have them on mine, the rails do exist to connect into. You can pop the plastic trim pieces off and then just install rails as per usual.

I have a '25 V8 130, came with roof rails installed. On mounting a Badass Tent roof rack and bar, I noticed the roof rack slots were a bit smaller and the base plates did not fit. I had the plates machined down by 1/8 inch to fit into the slots. I believe the reduced slot size is to deter adding accessories.

I have 3 pelican cases that I use for lighter weight items and have done a trip to Telluride and one last weekend to Oklahoma form DFW. Being mindful of the added weight, I have not had any issues with performance.
