Thank you. I think Land Rover missed mine as I also have the third row climate control but only have vent on the left side.

The 5 seaters with rear cooling assist only have the vent on the left side. The 7 seaters with rear cooling assist have a vent on both sides. That's the difference. (for all 2020-present)

I couldn't figure this out when I was looking at Defenders on Autotrader for the longest time last year!

Same on mine, which is the stupidest thing. I don't know why my two 120 lbs dogs need less airflow than two kids, but for the same price. they didn't miss including the controls in the trunk which without the third row is as useful as **** on a bull - unless my guys figure out how to use it.

I saw a video on it ages ago and was a stand alone option (then) - I thought it would be good for the dog for long journeys! so are we now saying it can only be added if you have 7 seats?
I can't keep up with the options moving in and out of standard/option/not available.

It's simple. Rear cool assist avail on 5 seater or 7 seater.

If you tick the box on a 5 seater, you get one vent on one side (left side I believe). And the little fan dial in the cargo area on the right. And your 3rd row on the Pivi climate screen shows a picture of a dog.

If you tick the box on a 7 seater, you get an HVAC vent on both sides of the cargo area. And the little fan dial in the cargo area on the right. 3rd row on the Pivi climate screen shows human forms.

Honestly I got the 7 seater but will never use those seats. Just for my dogs. And bummed I don't have the dog picture on my pivi screen!

Question 3-Zone vs 3-Zone w/Rear Cooling Assist

I'm about to order a 2024 110-S P400 5-seater. I have dogs who will ride in the cargo area, and I want cool air to come out of the cargo vent(s) for them. Dealer salesperson says all I need is 3-Zone Climate Control, and that I don't need the "Rear Cooling Assist" because that would only provide control dials in the back, which for the dogs of course is useless. I want to make double sure - can anyone give current advice, since this original thread is a few years old?

Three zone climate control is front passenger, front driver, and second row. You will want rear cooling if you want the cargo area cooled. I believe without the third row seating the rear cooling is only controlled by the front pivi screen and only has one vent on the driver side.
With the third row row and rear cooling assist you get one vent on both sides and a fan speed control **** accessible by the third row.

Salesperson is 100% WRONG and glad you asked ! You need rear cool assist to get the vents in the cargo area, and I wouldn't buy one without it for doggos in the back.
