Yeah that sounds good.

I'll probably ask them to do this and follow this myself after this change.

 

Talk about being a "needy bitch" - I handed them the diagram and asked if they'd mind doing a 5-tire rotation instead of the four - they were like "no problem".

And I'll post elsewhere, but I had them do an oil change (I'll start doing it myself next time using the Liqui-Moly) but I have to admit it was easy this way.

They charged:

$27.38 for the filter
$102.42 for the oil
$4.74 for solvent
$69.95 for labor

And they were GOING to try and charge me $15 for a new drain plug, but when I received the invoice I said "didn't you pump the oil out the top" to which they replied "yup" - so I said "Then I guess you didn't remove the 50 bolts that hold the skid plate on to change the drain plug" and they quickly gave me a new invoice that was $15 less.

While it was there they washed the exterior, vacuumed and cleaned the interior, and removed two water stains from the non-treated fabric (I'm assuming as per the TSB), so it's kinda hard to complain.

Actually it was very good customer service which is nice to say because the sales experience was bar none the worst of my lifetime.

 

Question. After rotating will the cars TPMS automatically detect which wheel/tire has moved where? Or does that need to be programmed/told to the car some how?

 

nothing to be done. TPMS takes care of it automatically

Directional tires will have different pattern.

 

Finally someone with the correct information. A lot of these cross/diagonal patterns are from another era, when it was a simple procedure. Did it this way many years ago. Most modern tires are directional, and are marked: OUTSIDE/INSIDE. To accomplish a rotation in this manner may require dismounting the tire from the wheel. Check all tires carefully for markings bearing these indicators.

My KO2s follow the usual 5 tire pattern for 4WD vehicles. Non directional.

Winter blizzaks get a simple front to back swap. Sides never change. They are directional.

Tires make it idiot proof. A rotation arrow stamped right there in the sidewall.
