Decided to check with dealer today if any new build date had been assigned by JLR to my D90 CE (originally ordered in March ‘21 & sched for 7/12 build).

It’s now showing a 12/3 build with 1/28/22 delivery. We’ll see if this unicorn SUV ever actually happens…anyone else get new Carpathian Edition build dates yet (2024 &#128521?

Give up friend. Wait a couple more months for the SVR.

Exactly what I am doing. Cancelled V8 order 10 days ago, got deposit back. Already made 25% by investing it in crypto - might even be able to buy the SVR outright by the time they solve their microchip problem.

Intel CEO in the press today saying it’s going to take 2 years to solve - basically until chip manufacturers build new factories!

Then what would the wait time be for the SVR..2023?! How would these microchips/semiconductors ever catch up with demand. Rough scene.

I’m banking on SVR orders in Q4 2021 and delivery spring/summer 2023. Anyone with a V8 on order is going to be in about the same ball park.

Do you think JLR will source the SVR engine from BMW’s Nick 4.4 liter twin turbo or stick with the Ford 5.0 supercharged?

Rumours I’ve read say BMW’s V8 from the M5

"Due to arrive Spring 2022".

Stop laughing. Hear me out.

JLR C-suite has been emphatic about prioritizing high-margin vehicles to become "the most profitable car mfr in the world". The new CEO seems to be staking his (admittedly sketchy) reputation on it.

V8's are mainly held up by lights which will be sorted in a couple of months. HUDs and other tech should be available in enough qty to build a couple thousand SVR's. SVR isn't a volume trim. It's a profit trim. Priority #1.

I think they could come close.

Soulsea I’ve known you across a lot of rare expensive car forums...just buy what you want from current dealer stock! If I had your pockets I wouldn’t be waiting.
