I saw a video today about using the InControl app to put your defender in “service mode” so that disconnecting the battery does not result in some kind of alert to LR.

On the same screen in the app there is a toggle for “wake up timer”, with text saying it is for when the car will not be used for an extended period.

I don’t see any explanation of this anywhere, does anyone know what this option does?

 

You can't use remote app after car has been sitting for couple days, it goes into "sleep" mode. I assume you can use this timer to wake it up. One scenario I forsee using myself is when returning from holiday and need to heat up the car when it's waiting in the airport.
